Martin has endured hurricane force winds and sub-zero temperatures that the likes of us will never see.

Most who know him agree, if you cannot reach McCarthy by phone he is most likely where he feels most at peace – on a higher elevation, lost in the wilderness. His climbs up some of the highest and most dangerous mountains in the USA, are countless, and relatively constant. McCarthy is not one to turn away from lone adventure or greuling challenge.
